Bill Powless was born and raised on the Six Nations of the Grand River Reserve, near Brantford, Ont. He is a self taught artist but has taken a graphic and commercial art course at Mohawk College.
Bill draws and paints in a realistic style depicting scenes from every day life both the serious and the funny. Also drawing from legends and a fertile imagination, he draws his vision of the past and the future.
His work has been exhibited throughout Canada, Germany and the United States. He has illustrated many children’s books and his murals can be seen in various businesses, schools, hospitals, and museums. Bill’s paintings and drawings can be found in many private collections.
